It is still early to know if this new Dimensity 2000 will have the strength to displace the competition, but the news is already enough to shake the market and indicate that there will be a game over the next year. even more fierce in the world of semiconductors which is not experiencing a particularly easy period, pressured by strong demand and low availability.
According to rumors circulated to date, MediaTek Dimensity 2000 would represent a real revolution for the Taiwanese company. The chip in question, in fact, would not only be the first at 4nm but also the first in the world to fully employ the ARMv9 architecture which should guarantee a good step forward in terms of performance and energy efficiency.
The chipset would employ a three-cluster configuration, with one full-performance Cortex-X2 core, three high-performance Cortex-A710 cores, and four low-power Cortex-A510 cores, all completely redesigned. By combining this new architecture with the more efficient manufacturing process, Dimensity 2000 would offer performance that would put it on par with Qualcomm’s expected Snapdragon 898 but more efficient, with up to 25% lower power consumption.
Ice Universe, one of the most trusted sources in the industry, shared an AnTuTu screenshot showing the benchmark scores achieved by the smartphone that integrates the Dimensity 2000 chip.
In AnTuTu we have seen the score of a phone with this new SoC from MediaTek that has been the first to reach one million points. This score belongs to a mobile from the VIVO brand that works with the MT6983 SoC, this phone is probably a new VIVO from the X series. At the moment the AnTuTu platform has not validated the score obtained.
By way of comparison, the best Android smartphone today, the Nubia Red Magic 6, which comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, managed to reach 858,734 points. Only the iPad Pro with the M1 chip managed to surpass the one million barrier on the platform.
It is important to mention that the smartphone with the new Dimensity chip is an unfinished product, so it is possible that we will have even better results with the final product, as it will be better optimized. Scoring will vary from brand to brand, as MediaTek has enhanced its relationship with many brands by allowing modifying and assisting with the development of future Dimensity series processors.
